If you think that we have done something wrong

If you believe that the Pension Authority's decision is incorrect, you can request that we reconsider it.

We will inform you when you have the right to reconsider and appeal the Swedish Pensions Agency’s decision and how to go about it.

You can request a reconsideration

If you believe that our decision is incorrect, you can request that the Swedish Pension Authority reconsiders it. This means that we review your comments and re-examine the decision. The reason for a review may be that you believe that the information on which the decision is based is not correct or that we have misinterpreted the legislation.

To request a review, you must write a letter stating which decision you want reconsidered, how you want the decision changed, and why. Also, please include your name, personal identity number or co-ordination number, address, and phone number. If you hire a representative for your request, the representative must have a power of attorney.

Your request must be submitted to the Swedish Pensions Agency within two months from when you received the decision. Information on how to request a reconsideration is also provided in the decision that you received from us.

You can appeal to the Administrative Court

If you believe that our reconsideration decision is incorrect, you can appeal to the Administrative Court. The appeal must be in writing and must have been submitted to the Swedish Pensions Agency within two months from when you received the decision. We will then check that your appeal has been received on time and forward it to the Administrative Court.

To file an appeal, you must describe what decision you are appealing, how you want the decision to be changed and why you think the decision is wrong. Also, please include your name, personal identity number or co-ordination number, address, and phone number. If you hire a representative you must provide the representative’s name, address, and phone number. The court will decide whether a written power of attorney is needed and whether or not it must be presented as an original document.
